Your pet gets a plan, not a protocol.

Coastal Animal Hospital is an integrative general practice for dogs and cats. Dr. Lisa Edwards builds an individual treatment plan for every patient, and takes the time to explain it to the person holding the leash.

Conventional medicine, and the things that work alongside it.

Dr. Edwards graduated from Cornell in 1984 and has kept adding to that training ever since: animal chiropractic in 1992, then acupuncture, clinical nutrition and homeopathy. Everything is built around one patient at a time and around teaching the client what is happening and why.

Chiropractic as functional neurology

A drug-free approach that adjusts subluxations, spinal misalignments or joint dysfunctions causing neurological or biomechanical problems, in the spinal column, the extremity joints and the cranial sutures. Every adjustment follows a full case history and a physical exam covering posture, gait and neurological analysis.

It does not dispense medications, perform surgery, or replace traditional veterinary care. It sits alongside it, with rehabilitation and therapeutic exercise advice to keep the nervous system healthy.

Appropriate at any age for

Maintenance of joint and spinal health

Neck, back, leg, and tail pain

Muscle spasms, limping, and nerve, disc or joint problems

Bowel, bladder, and internal medicine disorders
